Given his powers, he can create any simple weapon he wants, using the iron in his blood. His personal favorite is a halibard, or poll-ax.

Summary of background(if desired): If Xander were placed in the Marvel comic he would be qualified as a Mutant. What I mean by that is that he was born with powers embedded into his genetic code. Rather than calling him a "mutant", however, I think it would be better to say he was divinely gifted like was Samson in the Bible.
Now on to his personal life. Xander was homeschooled from kindergarten to 12th grade. His favorite subjects had to do with the circulatory system. So things like biology, medical history, etc.. He uses the knowledge he gained in those courses to improve how he uses his powers.
Now that he has graduated from high school, he is working as a school bus driver. He chose the job for several reasons:
1. to be around kids and protect them from any disasters.
2. he'll be able to run off and save the day while the kids are in school.
3. so that he can whip the kids into shape if he needs to.

He is a Christian. His powers are based on his ability to manipulate the iron in his body. So, yes, he does like spinach because it is a good source of iron. Anyway, he is also super humanly strong. He can create a sort of iron skin around himself and reenforce his organs to increase his durability. Since he is able to create a variety weapons, Xander has had to master all of them and has become an excellent swordsman, archer, and martial artist.
